Q:    Who is protected under the emergency breakdown service program?

A:    The Roadside Assistance member, the associate (family) member [the member's spouse or domestic partner (i.e. two adults residing in the same household), and any dependant children 25 or younger living at home or attending college].

Q:    How long will it take for Roadside Assistance dispatch to arrive?

A:    Good Sam Roadside Assistance averages between 45 - 60 minutes. However, when you call for roadside assistance, a service representative will be able to give you an accurate estimated time of arrival. Good Sam Roadside Assistance guarantees quality, on-time service when you need it most.

Q:    How do I get help in an emergency?

A:    Getting help during a roadside emergency is as easy as A, B, C!

  • Simply call our toll-free roadside assistance number located on the back of your Good Sam Roadside Assistance membership card.
  • Describe your location and vehicle - Knowing which road you are on and the nearest cross street as well as telling us the make, model and color of your vehicle will be helpful.
  • Describe your problem to our RV Certified dispatch representative - When you call Good Sam Roadside Assistance, know that our representatives are specifically trained to answer questions about RV complexities and how to handle vehicle disablement situations. Explain the vehicle's problem so we can send the proper equipment to assist you.

Q:    Am I protected in Mexico and Canada?

A:    Yes. Good Sam Roadside Assistance provides sign & drive coverage throughout North America including Alaska and Hawaii, and Canada. Also in Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Mexico where we provide roadside emergency services up to a maximum of $1,000 per one-year term of membership.

Q:    Does the member have to pay for the service and then submit a receipt for reimbursement?

A:    Not in the North America including Alaska and Hawaii, and Canada. Also in Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Mexico Good Sam Roadside Assistance provides Sign and Drive service. All services are prepaid so you don't have to deal with forms or red tape. In Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Mexico, Good Sam Roadside Assistance provides towing and roadside dispatch for disablement services rendered up to a maximum of $1,000 for any one-year term of membership.

Q:    What towing service would you call in my area?

A:    Good Sam Roadside Assistance uses over 40,000 dispatch facilities across the US and Canada to provide RV towing (travel trailer towing, motorhome towing, auto towing, and 5th wheel towing.) The tow provider closest to the member, with the proper equipment and who is first available for a timely dispatch, would be called to provide service to your breakdown location.

Q:    I own a fifth wheel trailer and truck. If my truck breaks down, does Good Sam Roadside Assistance pay to tow the truck and travel trailer?

A:    Yes! While other emergency roadside service providers may not cover specialized services like fifth wheel towing, Good Sam Roadside Assistance includes the cost to tow both vehicles to the nearest professional service center that can repair your vehicle. If the repairs on your truck are serious enough that they will take several days to complete, Good Sam Roadside Assistance will pay to have your travel trailer taken to a safe location, such as the nearest campground while you wait.

Q:    If I don't like this membership, can I get my money back?

A:    Yes. Within the first 30 days of your membership, you are entitled to a full refund - no questions asked. If you change your mind after that you will be given a pro-rated refund of your membership dues - even if you have used our services.
